Your healthcare professional knows that Zofran (Ondansetron) can provide proven prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, is well tolerated, and nonsedating. Zofran (Ondansetron) is the only oral antiemetic approved by the FDA to prevent nausea and vomiting on the day of treatment and on the 2 days following chemotherapy treatment that is somewhat likely to cause nausea and vomiting. On days 2 & 3 following chemotherapy, it's important to take Zofran (Ondansetron) before you feel sick to prevent nausea and vomiting. Zofran (Ondansetron) is generally well tolerated and effective, and it won't make you sleepy. Some patients reported side effects of Zofran (Ondansetron) such as headache, diarrhea, constipation, fever, and malaise or fatigue. Side effects were generally mild.
