Terazol (terconazole) is prescribed to treat candidiasis (a yeast-like fungal infection) of the vulva and vagina. Keep using Terazol (terconazole) for the full time of treatment, even if the infection seems to have disappeared. If you stop too soon, the infection could return. You should continue using Terazol (terconazole) during your menstrual period.
Terazol (terconazole) side effects cannot be anticipated. More common Terazol (terconazole) side effects may include: Abdominal pain, body pain, burning, genital pain or irritation, headache, menstrual pain Less common Terazol (terconazole) side effects may include: Chills, fever, itching If you have ever had an allergic reaction to or are sensitive to Terazol (terconazole) or any other ingredients of Terazol, you should not use Terazol (terconazole). Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced. If irritation, an allergic reaction, fever, chills, or flu-like symptoms develop while using Terazol (terconazole), notify your doctor. To avoid re-infection while using Terazol (terconazole), either avoid sexual intercourse or make sure your partner uses a non-latex condom. Terazol 3 suppositories can interact with latex products such as diaphragms and certain type of condoms. Use some other method of birth control while you are using Terazol (terconazole). Since Terazol (terconazole) is absorbed from the vagina, it should not be used during the first trimester (first 3 months) of pregnancy unless your doctor considers it essential to your health. It is not known whether Terazol (terconazole) appears in breast milk. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding your baby while using Terazol (terconazole). |
