Lacrisert Inserts is for patients with moderate to severe dry eye syndromes, including keratoconjunctivitis sicca, especially for patients who remain symptomatic after adequate trial of therapy with artificial tear solution. Follow the directions for using Lacrisert Inserts provided by your doctor. Lacrisert Inserts comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. STORE Lacrisert Inserts at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once. AFTER YOU BEGIN USING Lacrisert Inserts, several weeks may pass before your symptoms are completely relieved. DO NOT RUB YOUR EYES while you are using Lacrisert Inserts. IF AN INSERT is dislodged, another insert may be used. Lacrisert Inserts MAY CAUSE blurred vision. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you can see clearly. SIDE EFFECTS of Lacrisert Inserts, that may go away during treatment, include blurred vision, matting or stickiness of eyelashes, eyelid swelling or redness, eye irritation or discomfort, increased sensitivity to light, or increased eye sensitivity. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if your dry eye symptoms worsen. If you notice other effects of Lacrisert Inserts not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. DO NOT SHARE Lacrisert Inserts with others for whom it was not prescribed.
